Chapter 2 : Walking the walk.

Kipwil was getting into the groove, she had kept her good habits going and was enjoying going to Inbalance with Hubba Hubba and working out.  She had quite a few conversations with old and new friends about 12WBT land.  These people had seen the results in Kipwil for themselves and read of Kipwil’s exploits in the first blog Living Life with Kipwil and were keen to see what Queen Mish could do for them.

Kipwil found she was encouraging them to join her in a fun run/walk to be held near her new cottage. This event was to be held at the end of February.  She was getting lots of positive comments and was already planning a champagne filled congratulatory BBQ party at her house after everyone had crossed the finish line.  She was feeling good, encouraging people to push themselves and accept the challenge when she heard a little voice.

You’re so good at telling others to challenge themselves but look at you! Finding excuses to not achieve one of your goals because admit it, you are SCARED.  So how can you be telling others to just do it?

Kipwil couldn’t see where the voice was coming from but it did give her pause to think.  What the voice said was true.  Kipwil was hiding from one of her goals because she was scared. It would be different to everything she had ever done before and it involved swimming.

It was the Pink triathlon.

She took a deep breath and loaded the competition entry form onto the computer.  She read it and re read it.  Hubba Hubba looked in.

“ You should do it babe, you can do it.” he said patting her on the shoulder.

“ Do you reckon? I’m not sure about the swim.” Kipwil replied chewing on her bottom lip.

“ What are you always saying to me?  Just Freaking Do it? You talk the talk, now walk the walk, Kipwil” Hubba Hubba said and left her staring at the screen.

How my words come back to haunt me and bite me on my butt. Kipwil thought.  With hands shaking, she filled in the entry form and pressed SEND. It was done.

What have I just done? Kipwil thought, her head in her hands.

Kipwil went back to her room, worry gnawing at the edges of her mind.  She pulled out the treasure chest Queen Mish had given her and opened it.  Inside were the mapping materials to make her goal map, and Kipwil pulled them out and spread them out on the bed.  A note fell out.  Kipwil unfolded it and saw familiar handwriting.  She read it slowly.

“Kipwil, remember to map out what you want to achieve.  The map needs reviewing often as landmarks and goals change.  Don’t be outdated and steer yourself into danger!  And don’t forget.  Put your intentions out there.  Say it loud and proud, make your commitment to yourself, just as you made that commitment to me all those weeks ago.  You deserve it.  Love Queen Mish XX”

Kipwil sat for a second and taking her mapping materials out with her, she sat in front of her communication screen.

Make the commitment , well here’s part of it! she thought to herself and began to type.

In no time at all, Kipwil had electronically announced to all her friends and family she would be doing a triathlon.  She made the commitment to training and told everyone the date of the triathlon and set up a fundraising page.  Now there were NO EXCUSES!  She took a deep breath and felt much better.
Picking up her mapping materials, Kipwil set off for the river, to find a new favourite haunt and to start mapping out her goals…..and to think about what she had already achieved.

What will Kipwil’s new map be like? What has she already achieved from her last map making 12 weeks ago? What is YOUR map like?
